About the exam:
The ETS TOEFL iBT test measures your ability to use and understand English at the university level. And it evaluates how well you combine your listening, reading, speaking, and writing skills to perform academic tasks.
The TOEFL has four sections:
- Reading: measures the ability to understand academic reading material
- Listening: measures the ability to understand spoken English as it is used in colleges and universities
- Speaking – measures the ability to speak English in an academic context
- Writing – measures the ability to write in a way that is appropriate for college and university course work.
The TOEFL iBT is an computer-based test with four sections.The total time for the TOEFL appointment is about 3 hours and 30 minutes.
Cost:
The exam fee is $185 payable directly to TOEFL iBT during the registration process. There are no additional costs for scheduling or proctoring fees at the testing center.

- Create an account and register with TOEFL iBT.
- Schedule your appointment from your TOEFL dashboard

On Test Day:
- Bring a valid governmental ID
- Your ID requirements depend on where you plan to take the test and your citizenship
