Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)

TOEFL is one of the largest English-language standardized tests for non-native English speakers

Registration and Scheduling:

  • Create an account and register with TOEFL iBT
  • Schedule your appointment from your TOEFL dashboard
  • TOEFL iBT is available about once a month. To see available dates at testing centers visit: Locations and Dates.

On Test Day:

  • Bring a valid governmental ID 
    • Your ID requirements depend on where you plan to take the test and your citizenship
    • Visit TOEFL ID Requirements for more information
  • Locked storage is available on-site for personal items now allowed in the testing center

There is an optional 10-minute break after the Listening section when you may leave your seat. During your break, you are allowed to access food, beverages or comfort items only. Cellphones, electronics or study materials may NOT be accessed. You must return after you break ends.

Candidates can request reasonable accommodations for the TOEFL iBT exam. Candidates must submit these requests to TOEFL, and all requests must be submitted before scheduling your appointment. Visit ETS TOEFL Accommodations for more information.
