Paraprofessional Exam

Paraprofessional educators generally assist teachers in the classroom, supervise students outside of the classroom, or provide administrative support for teaching.

About the exam:

The Paraprofessional test is for candidates who have completed fewer than 60 credit hours of course-work and want to work in Special Education or Title I schools in Missouri. The Paraprofessional test covers both English and basic mathematics.

The Paraprofessional test is an computer-based exam, there are 90 questions and the total appointment time is 2 hours and 15 minutes. 

Cost:

The exam fee is $41 payable directly to Missouri Education Gateway Assessment during the registration process.  There are no additional costs for scheduling or proctoring fees at the testing center. 

Registration and Scheduling:

Candidates are to register with Missouri Educators Gateway Assessment. Candidates may schedule appointment at least 3 days in advance of the test date. Appointments are available weekly at our testing center.  Please contact our office for special appointment requests. 

Requesting Accommodations:

Candidates can request reasonable accommodations for the Paraprofessional exam. Candidates must submit these requests to MEGA, and all requests must be approved before the exam appointment. Please visit MEGA - Accommodations for more information.
