ParaPro Assessment

About the Exam:

The (ETS-PRAXIS) ParaPro Assessment is a general aptitude test for prospective and practicing paraprofessionals that measures your:

  • Skills and knowledge in reading, writing, and math
  • Ability to apply those skills when assisting in classroom instruction

Please visit the Missouri DESE website for more information on requirements for Paraprofessionals to work under the direct supervision of a certified teacher to provide instructional assistance.

The ParaPro Assessment is administered in English only.

Cost:

The ParaPro Assessment exam and proctoring fee is $75.00. Fee is payable online and due at the time of the appointment.

Registration and Scheduling:

To schedule an appointment, please register for the exam using the button below. You will receive an email confirmation of the appointment. If you don't pass the ParaPro Assessment, you must wait 28 days before you can retest. You must complete the registration process and submit payment again to retake the exam.

On test day: 

  • Bring a valid governmental ID. Acceptable forms of identification include the following:
    • Driver's license with photograph and signature
    • Passport with photograph and signature
    • Passport Card (must be accompanied by valid supplemental ID)
    • State or Province ID card (including those issued by motor vehicle agencies)
    • National identification with photograph and signature
    • Military identification with photograph and signature
  • Locked storage is available on-site for personal items now allowed in the testing center
