ETS Proficiency Profile

Purpose – ETS Proficiency Profile is a test of general academic knowledge and skills.  It includes materials usually covered in courses that make up what is often called the “General Education” portion of your course work.  The questions are from three broad academic areas – humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences. This assessment is mandated by the state of Missouri and all Missouri colleges/universities are required to demonstrate student performance outcomes.

When – Missouri S&T undergraduate students who have completed 45-75 credit hours towards their GPA are scheduled to take the ETS Proficiency Profile test in the Fall and Spring semesters. Students will receive communication from Institutional Research and Assessment regarding scheduling the assessment. Students also MUST register online for the exam due to limited space.

Test Format – Administered paper/pencil

Cost – The Proficiency Profile exam is administered at no cost to the student. However, if the student registers after the deadline, a $30 fee will be charged.
