Student Guidelines for Using Testing Services

Students are responsible for making appointments a minimum of seven business days prior to date the test is administered. Adherence to this deadline will insure that the Testing Center has sufficient time to locate a proctor and to confirm arrangements with both the student and the instructor. The Testing Center requires communication from both the student and faculty. Remind faculty to complete a Faculty Test Proctor Request Form electronically at http://testcenter.mst.edu/forms_testrequest.html. A test will not be administered without a submitted request.

A test request for the same day will not be accepted.

When students report to the Testing Center, on the day of the test, they must present photo identification. A test will not be administered without proper photo identification.

Acceptable forms of photo identification:

  • Driver's License (not expired)
  • Passport
  • Missouri S&T Student ID

Items to be placed outside of the testing room:

  • Backpacks
  • Coats
  • Hats
  • Food and Drink
  • Electronic Devices
    -cell phones, PDAs, MP3 players
-calculators, if not permitted by the instructor

It is the student’s responsibility to communicate with the instructor regarding items allowed during the test like a calculator, crib sheet, textbook, etc. The instructor will inform the Testing Center in regards to acceptable materials.

A student reporting more than 15 minutes late to a scheduled appointment is required to leave the Testing Center.  If this happens to a student, he/she will immediately contact the course instructor who may or may not give permission to complete that day’s exam.

Immediately leave the Testing Center area, once a test is completed.  Do not linger waiting to discuss the completed test with a classmate.

 Final Exam Scheduling

Final exams must be scheduled by the last Friday in October during the Fall semester and the last Friday in February during the Spring semester.  If a final exam is scheduled any later than this it is possible the Testing Center will not be able to accommodate a student’s exam.  Final exam dates are posted on the Registrar’s Office web page.
